As a Lead Data Engineer at JPMorgan Chase, as a core technical contributor, you are responsible for maintaining critical databases and work closely with application team to plan and migrate databases. Willingness to adopt and work on database issues ensuring incidents and requests are cleared within SLA.

Job responsibilities

• Work on Database support, including troubleshooting, maintenance, and migration of databases.
• Work on database & query performance issues.
• Work with application teams on database related activities to ensure right support and guidance.
• Work with Senior management and lead the efforts from the front on various ask other than core database support.
• Willingness to cover weekend shift on ROTA basis and planned activity.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Hands on experience in 19c Oracle Database, CDP-PDB Architecture & its operation, knowledge on 12.2+ optimizer related new features.
• Should possess well understanding of Oracle GRID, RAC & RDBMS, Pluggable DBs architecture.
• Should possess strong experience on - 12c/19c Installation/Configuration, patching, cloning, upgrade, maintenance.
• Patching Standalone and RAC databases with multiple node env
• Sound or good knowledge in Oracle performance tuning areas over instance tuning, SQL performance tuning, parameter tuning etc.
• Expected to be well acquainted with: OEM, AWR, ADDM, tkprof, SQL Plan Management.
• Understanding of Database cloning, RMAN cloning, Active database cloning & events related to RMAN operation.
• Thorough knowledge of Oracle OEM, ASM, Datapump, Partitioning, Materialized views, Partitioning, Compression, Reorg & Encryption
• Excellent skills in troubleshooting, systematic analysis of incidents and should acquainted with ITIL/ServiceNow processes associated with Incident handling, escalations, vendor engagement.
• Working Knowledge of configuring Data Guard Physical Standby Database / Logical Standby database / Log Miner.
• Strong operational knowledge on Linux OS architecture or its functionality, AWS Platform & RDS specifics to configurations, operation, monitoring, troubleshooting & optimization.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Experience to lead a team and work individually on management related tasks.
• Hands on knowledge on Golden Gate, AQ & TTS is a plus.
• Experience on other modern database platforms like MySQL, Cockroach, Mongo, PostgreSQL databases is a plus.
• In depth knowledge on TNS layer, Client/Server Architecture, and Hardware (Servers,SAN, Network)
• Deploying and configuring a DB using terraform, Managing a DB instance - stop/start/modify config/db engine upgrade & Backup - DB snapshot creation and restore
• Ability to Check event logs and leverage them as required.
