The Test Engineer Consultant, provides Test execution on software development projects, focusing on the creation/ execution of functional and automated test scripts for low to medium complexity projects including database validation and web services testing. They are responsible for helping develop the test plans for the team and are the quality advocate responsible for helping identify acceptance criteria and defining the test conditions when stories or requirements are created.

Job Responsibilities

• Experience in testing REST API's and develop API regression test cases using Selenium Python/Javan
  
  • Working experience in CI CT implementation using jenkins
  • Create and maintain basic automation test cases within a defined framework to ensure quality and support Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery pipeline
  • Decompose stories to be able to write effective acceptance criteria and automated test scripts for projects
  • Provide input into test strategy and develop test strategy for low complexity projects
  • Quality advocate within their team
  • Understand and escalate issues related to the test infrastructure
  • Participate in an environment where Test/Behavior-Driven Development is fostered
  • Document and communicate bugs/issues accurately and clearly
  • Interact with Development and Testing Teams
  • Participate in Scrum Daily Stand-up, Sprint and iterative development activities – prepared to take on any role within an Agile team
  • Participate in Sprint planning, release planning, backlog refinement, retrospectives
  • Ability to work in a very fast paced development organization

Primary Skills

Essential Skills

• Minimum 4 years of testing experience and Minimum 2 years of API testing experience.
• Experience constructing test cases and executing them across functional, regression and system testing
• Strong understanding of at least one of the following areas: Java, Python
• Understanding of agile software development and CI/CD pipelines in relation to testing
• Strong understanding of Source Code Management Tools (e.g. Git, TFS, RTC)
• Knowledge and understanding of Web Services or REST in relation to software testing
• Strong communication skills
• Strong analytical ability

Experience

Create enhanced technical documentation and implement changes
Conduct timely structured code reviews to ensure standards and systems interoperability
Review and critique other team members’ code
Create accurate test plans, conditions, and data
Participate in testing reviews
Conduct basic levels of module and integration testing according to process standards
Track and resolve moderate defects
Provide technical assistance
Analyze and resolve moderate to complex problems
Execute change management activities for project deployments and other changes
Hands on CICD Tools - GitHub, Jenkins, Artifactory
Test Driven Development (TDD) (E.g. JUNITs)
