(AS400) IBM i Infra support. Job Requirements: Expertise:
  • 10 to12+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience of IBM iSeries system administration and troubleshooting and automation process.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrable experience in AS400 Admin and CL, ILE and RPG program and tools like HMC, Ops-Navigator, MIMIX, DR, BCP & HA.

: System Administration & Operations
  • Automation of procedures to enable unattended monitoring and Set up third party system management tools like ROBOTICS.
  • Knowledge in ROBOT Automation must.
  • Job, backup management, Disk space management, performance & capacity related reports
  • Perform O/S, H/W, S/W upgrades, Installation of PTFs related to HMC, Firmware, OS
  • Maintenance of all IBM i systems and related hardware.
  • Prepare, Plan and Implement OS Upgrade and troubleshoot upgrade issues.
  • Testing operating system and application software releases and loading fixes in both test and productions environments.
  • Troubleshooting backup failures and perform recovery activities to maintain zero data loss
  • Perform Security and user authority administration.
  • Maintenance of communication between IBM I systems.
  • Interact with vendors on regular basis to resolve technical issues
  • Provide support for Application team in running production critical jobs and reports.
  • Understanding of internal controls and change management processes.
  • Software Development experience in i-Series Languages: RPG, CL and ILE Concepts to design and automate existing processes .
  • Worked on Display File and Subfile concepts.

Environment setup & migration
  • Sizing & configuration of AS400 H/W, S/W, Set up Hardware Management Console (HMC).
  • Server Setup and Creating Logical partitions on AS400
  • System, network & database integration and Adherence to security needs.

Performance Tuning & Capacity Planning
  • Set up subsystems, allocate private & shared memory pools
  • Perform capacity planning, performance monitoring, analysis and required tuning.
  • Set up performance data collection and ODBC Workload Isolation
  • Define and identify key business metrics or indicators that drive server resource utilization

Disaster Recovery & High Availability
  • Create/Maintain detailed disaster recovery (DR), business continuity (BCP) & high availability (HA) plan & procedures and a test plan for verification
  • Maintain Disaster Recovery Plan in accordance to our security team requirements, Coordinate and Perform Disaster Recovery Testing.

People management:
  • Capable to handle team members of minimum 6 in various technologies (AS400, Mainframe and tools team).
  • Certified in ITIL V4 service management and Prince2 agile is added advantage.
  • Preparing and maintaining monthly roster and Daily tracker and share point documents.
  • Reviewing employee performance evaluations and providing feedback on areas for improvement.
  • Coordinating employee meetings such as staff meetings or team meetings.
  • Developing employee skills and performance through training and coaching.
  • Hiring, training, and developing new employees to meet organizational needs.
  • Providing feedback on an employee\xe2\x80\x99s performance, helping to develop an employee\xe2\x80\x99s skills where needed, and addressing performance problems.
  • Monitoring employee attendance and performance to ensure that they meet required standards of conduct and performance.
  • Assigning tasks and projects to employees according to their strengths and weaknesses.
