Job Title: Lead Consultant - Application Engineer

Job role
As part of AstraZeneca's IT transformation program, Veeva customer relationship management (CRM) platform has been deployed to 35,000+ users in 70+ countries globally to improve field user productivity and effectiveness. We are looking for a senior product engineer to join our dynamic CoE team and lead design and build of releases and projects on the CRM platform and related ecosystem applications/integrations. In addition, this role will be required to provide technical leadership across multiple IT products and release trains and handling 3rd party contracted suppliers require direction on delivery processes.
Key accountabilities

• Maintain deep working knowledge of Veeva and Salesforce platforms/products/infrastructure aligned with their development assignments
• Serve as an internal consultant for IT and business partners across regions and business areas (Commercial, Medical)
• Identify platform exploitation and innovation opportunities across the enterprise
• Socialise new or unused Veeva/SFDC platform features with business and identify exploitation opportunities
• Actively promote new platform features and drive adoption
• Run assessments / POCs for new initiatives
• Generate innovation ideas and create case for new features
• Participate in business requirement gathering and design activities with business & IT collaborator
• Lead delivery activities through Design / Build / Test / Deploy phases for regular releases and key Veeva platform initiatives
• Understand e2e CRM ecosystem and Provide technical and functional oversight on configuration, customization, My Insights UX development for Veeva releases and projects
• Provide technical expertise on integration technologies to release and project teams working on the development, implementation, maintenance and improvement of Integration designs and solutions
• Generate and implement ideas to simplify / streamline our integration landscape
• Lead, mentor and coach the AZ Application Development team based in Chennai to increase throughput and quality
• Provides technical expertise to peers and 3rd party development suppliers to ensure consistency in alignment to AZ IT and Commercial IT standards and processes
• Works with platform delivery resources to ensure validation of business and functional requirements as part of product and platform development responsibilities
• Provides input into and when required, authors cases, handle vendor or supplier proposals, coordinate supplier selection
• Evaluate and demonstrate accountability for onboarding and launch of new technologies / application features and influence recommendations for technology and business strategic roadmaps
• Lead / Influence Product Release Roadmap against AstraZeneca's interests from the product
• Help refine business requirements, set priorities, handle expectations, resolve issues, and work with the other members of the technical team to deliver innovative solutions.
• Collaborate with Business collaborators and Capability leads to co-create functionalities with strategic markets with a view to scale globally
• Demonstrate high understanding of the application development processes of AstraZeneca's implementation of the product.

Continuous Improvement and Innovation

• Lead continuous improvement opportunities within platform and product level backlogs
• Identifies new hardware/software technologies to fit specialised business needs and configurations
• Identify issues with current processes and provide timely feedback on proposed changes to enhance effectiveness of IT
• Come up with creative ideas for innovation and develop a rationale for introducing new features
• Influence product roadmap with new innovations and cases

Essential skills & experience

• Degree level education or equivalent experience in computer science or similar
• Veeva CRM, Vault Certified professional with extensive hands-on experience in Global solutions
• Salesforce Platform Certified and expertized in advanced custom solutions and new capability design
• Experience in integration technologies & skills - Snaplogic, MuleSoft
• Experience on AWS and Java is added benefits
• Expertised in Business and Collaborator management
• Prior experience in an Information Services/Information Technology environment with good eye for business
• Validated experience of handling relationships with 3rd party suppliers
• Experience with multiple different types software risks
• Evidence of designing, shaping and implementing innovative solutions and driving any changes
• Ability to interpret and communicate technical information into business language
• Expertise in Agile Software Development techniques and Methodologies
• Expertise in Web and Mobile Application Engineering
• Expertise in application design patterns and processes
• Proficiency in Continuous Integration and Deployment techniques provided within an agile team
