About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced

Mechanical Engineering Lead

to drive electro-mechanical design excellence for Cisco's hardware portfolio. This role will focus on reviewing and validating complex packaging designs, ensuring quality, reliability, and compliance with industry best practices. You will serve as the technical authority for design releases, guiding teams with your expertise in mechanical and electro-mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead reviews of electro-mechanical packaging designs, ensuring adherence to DFX, structural integrity, and user interface standards. Act as the gatekeeper for design quality, enabling smooth design releases and ensuring acceptance across teams. Drive process improvements, establish quality metrics, and mentor teams on design best practices. Collaborate on chassis architecture, PCB size/placement, sheet-metal enclosure development, and power distribution design. Provide guidance on manufacturing limitations, cost-effective solutions, and material/assembly best practices. Support thermal simulations, tolerance/structural analysis, and validation processes.

Required Skills & Experience:

12+ years of hands-on experience in electro-mechanical packaging and design. Strong background in

Pro/E or CREO

for mechanical design of standalone and rack-mount chassis/systems (1RU to 40RU). Proven expertise in PCB design constraints, component placement, and packaging limitations. Deep knowledge of tolerance analysis, DFX principles, and structural/thermal considerations. Experience enabling process improvements, establishing quality standards, and mentoring engineering teams. Strong understanding of material properties, corrosion resistance, and manufacturing processes. * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
