As the Business Continuity Manager at BMC Software, you will lead initiatives ensuring organizational resilience, compliance, and timely response to disruptive events. You will champion the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of a global Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) aligned with ISO 22301 standards, while managing crisis communications, employee safety, security protocols, and high-risk travel processes.

1. ISO 22301 Compliance & Certification

• Develop, implement, and maintain a BCMS aligned with ISO 22301:2019 requirements, coordinating internal audits and compliance assessments. [qmii.com], [iso.org]

• Define roles, responsibilities, metrics, and governance frameworks to support BCMS operations in line with Clause 6.2 and 7.2 of ISO 22301. [iso-docs.com], [blog.bcm-i...titute.org]

• Manage external audit processes, preparing documentation and facilitating certificate renewals.

2. Business Continuity Planning & Exercises

• Lead enterprise-wide risk assessments, business impact analyses (BIA), and identification of recovery time objectives (RTOs). [interviewguy.com], [himalayas.app]

• Develop and maintain detailed recovery strategies and plans for critical business functions.

• Plan and execute regular BCMS testing-incl. tabletop exercises, drills, and live simulations; integrate lessons learned into continuous plan improvement. [interviewguy.com], [himalayas.app]

3. Crisis Management & Alerts

• Establish and own crisis management frameworks: activation criteria, crisis management team (CMT) coordination, escalation protocols, and communication response plans. [entirelysafe.com], [theknowled...cademy.com]

• Implement real-time alert and notification systems to ensure rapid internal and external communications.

• Lead incident coordination during disruptions-collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective triage, resolution, and post-incident reviews. [entirelysafe.com], [theknowled...cademy.com]

4. High-Risk Travel Management

• Establish policies and procedures for duty-of-care and risk mitigation during high-risk domestic or international travel.

• Monitor global geopolitical events; coordinate travel alerts and advisories-ensure travelers receive timely guidance and updates.

• Provide support channels (hotline/protocol) for personnel facing safety or medical emergencies while traveling.

5. Collaboration & Training

• Build strong partnerships with IT, Security, Legal, HR, Facilities, Risk, and Global Operations to embed continuity and crisis readiness across the organization.

• Lead BCMS awareness campaigns, workshops, and leadership-level training to enhance organizational readiness.

• Manage budgets and resource allocation for continuity, crisis response, and safety initiatives.

6. Reporting & Continuous Improvement

• Produce executive-level reports on BCMS health, maturity, plan effectiveness, audit findings, and areas for improvement.

• Deploy metrics and KPIs (e.g., number of tests performed, response times, audit NCRs) to measure program efficacy.

• Drive continual improvement, ensuring BCMS evolves to meet organizational needs and external best practices.

At BMC we believe in pay transparency and have set the midpoint of the salary band for this role at 3,380,000 INR. Actual salaries depend on a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training, licensure, and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
The salary listed is just one component of BMC's employee compensation package. Other rewards may include a variable plan and country specific benefits.
