About the Team
This role is part of the team that will work on leveraging AI to build new capabailites into Solifi products working with key Business and Technology leaders. The primary focus of the team will on leveraging AI frameworks to rapidly build market ready solutions.
About the Position
We are seeking a visionary Lead AI Engineer with 12+ years of experience to lead the design, and development of AI-driven solutions that power our next-generation products. As a strategic thought leader, you will work closely with product managers, data scientists, software engineers, and business stakeholders to integrate cutting-edge AI into scalable, secure, and high-performing systems. Your expertise will be pivotal in shaping the future of our AI strategy and aligning it with the company's product roadmap.
Role and Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership & Product Innovation
- Design, develop, and deploy AI solutions within an organization, guiding teams and aligning technical strategies with business objectives.
- Partner with executive leadership and product teams to identify AI opportunities and translate them into impactful features.
- Drive innovation by evaluating and integrating emerging AI/ML trends and technologies (e.g., GenAI, LLMs, edge AI, multimodal AI).
2. Solution Architecture & System Design
- Build end-to-end AI solutions, including data pipelines, model training/deployment, inference engines, and integration layers.
- Design AI systems for scalability, low latency, and high availability, ensuring they meet enterprise-grade standards.
- Define modular, reusable components and APIs for seamless AI service integration into the product ecosystem.
3. AI/ML Model Development & Governance
- Guide the design and development of ML models, NLP systems, computer vision models, and recommendation engines.
- Oversee model lifecycle management: versioning, retraining, drift monitoring, and auditing.
- Establish MLOps practices for model CI/CD, automated testing, and deployment workflows using platforms like MLflow, Kubeflow, or AWS SageMaker.
4. Data Strategy & Infrastructure
- Collaborate with Data Engineering teams to define data architecture supporting model training and real-time inference.
- Ensure data privacy, compliance (GDPR/CCPA), and responsible AI principles are embedded into data usage.
- Champion quality, fairness, and transparency in data and model outcomes.
5. Technical Leadership & Mentorship
- Mentor cross-functional teams of ML engineers, data scientists, and software developers.
- Conduct design reviews, code reviews, and AI model evaluations.
- Foster a strong engineering culture focused on experimentation, performance, and continuous learning.
6. Stakeholder Management & Communication
- Act as the technical bridge between AI teams and business/product stakeholders.
- Translate complex AI concepts into actionable insights and business value.
About You
12+ years of overall experience in software development, with 5+ years in AI/ML systems.
Proven experience building and scaling AI/ML products in a
product-based or SaaS company
.
Strong knowledge of ML/DL frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch), data science tools (scikit-learn, XGBoost), and MLOps platforms.
Deep understanding of architectural patterns (microservices, event-driven, REST/gRPC APIs).
Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and deployment of AI at scale (containers, Kubernetes, serverless).
Solid grounding in algorithms, statistics, optimization, and data structures.
Familiarity with Generative AI (LLMs like GPT, Claude, Gemini, Bedrock) and fine-tuning/customization approaches.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
