Role Overview
The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing the institution's legal matters, with a focus on coordinating with government authorities for:
Permits and site access approvals
Legal compliance concerning transport, conservation, and documentation of antiquities
Drafting, reviewing, and maintaining legal agreements, MoUs, and formal communications
Ensuring compliance with relevant acts and policies, including the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, Forest (Conservation) Act, and related heritage laws
Representing the institution in legal correspondences or proceedings, if necessary
Eligibility Criteria
Bachelor's degree in Law (LL.B.); candidates with a specialization in environmental, heritage, or land-use law will be preferred
Minimum 3 years of relevant legal experience, preferably with exposure to government procedures and public sector coordination
Strong understanding of legal frameworks related to archaeology, environment, and cultural heritage
Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and liaise effectively with multiple stakeholders
