Job Description


Financial

  • Ensure that the billing of guests\xe2\x80\x99 laundry and dry cleaning is done accurately.
Operational
  • Provide helpful, friendly, prompt, accurate and personalized laundry / valet service to the guests.
  • Ensure that the laundry lists and records are appropriately filled to maintain proper control over the items received and returned.
  • Confirm with the guests the preferred time of delivery and provide any special service required at the time of collection.
  • Sort out clothes according to type, texture and degree of soil, mark them in accordance with the prescribed code and pack them appropriately after washing or dry cleaning.
  • Tally the items with those listed on the laundry / dry cleaning list and report discrepancies to the Supervisor.
  • Inspect garments for tears, faded color, missing buttons and other damages and inform the guest (through the Supervisor or Laundry Manager) before the item(s) are processed.
  • Check all buttons and the quality of the finished garments.
  • Pack / hang all garments as per the guests\xe2\x80\x99 instructions. Ensure every request made by the guest regarding his / her laundry is met.
  • Deliver all guests\xe2\x80\x99 garments after packing to the guests\xe2\x80\x99 room.
  • Assist in the implementation of other tasks within the Laundry, whenever required.
  • Execute tasks in the prescribed manner in accordance with the service standards of the Laundry Department.
  • Maintains equipment in proper state of cleanliness and repair as per standard.
  • Reports damages and malfunctions to supervisor.
  • To carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Business plan /Analysis
  • Help the department to meet its targets in revenue and cost budget.
  • Ensure that the plan for the optimum conservation of energy is adhered by all employees of the Department.
  • Ensure and maintain adequate control over the use of chemicals, laundry supplies, water, steam and electricity to keep operational expenses in control.
  • To help in carrying out monthly, quarterly and yearly inventory.
Team Management
  • Guide and assist team members in the execution of their tasks as and when required.
  • Ensures that the appropriate information is given and received by his/her team, to and from the other departments.
  • Applies and ensures application of labour legislation.
General Duty
  • Meet long stay and repeat guests regularly to ensure that their preferences are met.
  • Ensures the procedures of hygiene and safety standards.
