Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Operate conventional or CNC lathe machines to produce parts as per design drawings. Read and interpret engineering drawings, work orders, and specifications. Set up tools, chucks, fixtures, and workpieces correctly on the machine. Measure and inspect machined components using instruments like vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc. Maintain required machining tolerances and surface finishes. Perform regular maintenance and cleaning of the lathe machine. Report any deviations, tool wear, or machine issues to the supervisor. Ensure proper handling and storage of tools and raw materials. Follow safety procedures and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. Assist in continuous improvement and production efficiency initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills:

ITI / Diploma in Machinist or Fitter trade. 2-5 years of experience operating lathe machines (conventional or CNC). Good knowledge of machining processes and measuring instruments. Ability to read mechanical drawings and understand tolerances. Basic maintenance and troubleshooting knowledge of machines. Attention to detail, accuracy, and time management skills.

Working Conditions:

Factory environment. Requires standing for long hours and manual handling of materials. Shift work may be required depending on production demand.
