Job Description

Lathe Operator is responsible for operating a lathe machine to shape materials like metal, wood, or plastic. They interpret technical drawings, select appropriate tools, and ensure the machine is running accurately and efficiently. This involves setting up the lathe, monitoring the machining process, and inspecting finished products for quality. Key Responsibilities:

Operating and maintaining lathe machines:

This includes setting up, loading materials, and making adjustments during operation.

Interpreting technical drawings and blueprints:

Understanding the specifications for the parts being produced.

Selecting appropriate tools and materials:

Choosing the right tools for the job and ensuring material quality.

Monitoring machine operations:

Ensuring the machine is running correctly and making adjustments as needed.

Inspecting finished products:

Checking for accuracy, quality, and compliance with specifications.

Performing routine maintenance:

Keeping the machine in good working order.

Documenting production data and maintaining records:

Tracking production output and machine performance.

Collaborating with engineers and quality control:

Working with other team members to ensure quality and efficiency.

Ensuring a safe working environment.
Skills and Qualifications:

Basic math and mechanical aptitude:

Understanding measurements, tolerances, and machine operations.

Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings:
