Job Description

Set up, program, and operate CNC laser cutting machines for cutting sheet metal components (e.g., mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum).

Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine cutting paths, material thickness, and tolerances.

Load and unload sheet metal materials onto the laser cutting bed using handling equipment or manually as required.

Monitor machine operation and cutting quality; make necessary adjustments to parameters such as speed, power, and gas pressure.

Inspect finished parts using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure they meet quality standards and tolerances.

Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and calibration of laser machines to prevent downtime.

Maintain accurate production records, job cards, and material usage logs.

Identify and troubleshoot operational issues, report faults, and coordinate with maintenance teams for corrective actions.

Ensure safe operation of laser machines and adherence to all safety and PPE requirements.

Optimize nesting layouts and material usage to minimize waste and improve efficiency.

Assist in continuous improvement initiatives for productivity, quality, and process reliability
