A
Laptop & Desktop Service Engineer
is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading computers (both desktops and laptops). The role ensures that customer systems run smoothly, efficiently, and securely -- either at the service center or at the client's location.
2. Key Responsibilities

Diagnosis & Troubleshooting
Identify and resolve hardware and software issues in desktops and laptops.
Troubleshoot problems related to booting, display, power supply, motherboard, RAM, HDD/SSD, keyboard, or other peripherals.
Diagnose software and OS-related problems including Windows installation, driver issues, and antivirus setup.

Repair & Maintenance
Replace or repair faulty components (motherboard, hard disk, RAM, SMPS, keyboard, etc.).
Perform regular maintenance, cleaning, and performance tuning of systems.
Handle BIOS updates and system configuration.

Installation & Configuration
Install and configure operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.).
Set up new systems with required applications, drivers, and updates.
Configure LAN/Wi-Fi, printers, and other network devices.

Customer Service
Interact politely and professionally with customers.
Explain problems, solutions, and preventive maintenance to customers in simple terms.
Maintain service records and customer feedback logs.

Field Support (if applicable)
Visit clients' locations for onsite service and installations.
Provide emergency repair support when required.
3. Required Skills
Strong knowledge of computer hardware & peripherals.
Basic understanding of networking (LAN, IP configuration, router setup).
Good command over Windows installation & troubleshooting.
Ability to use diagnostic tools and software utilities.
Strong communication and customer-handling skills.
Problem-solving and time-management abilities.
4. Educational Qualification
Minimum: ITI / Diploma in Computer Hardware & Networking / Electronics
Preferred: Graduate in Computer Science or related field
Certifications like
CompTIA A+
,
MCSE
, or
Hardware & Networking Diploma
are added advantages.
5. Work Environment
Service center or field-based work.
Requires lifting and handling of computer equipment.
Regular interaction with customers and team members.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹1,000.00 - ₹12,000.00 per month
