:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Copy Editor. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accuracy, clarity, consistency, and adherence to style guidelines across various types of publications, including books, journals, academic papers, and digital content. The role requires expertise in language editing, grammar, punctuation, fact-checking, and style sheet application. Familiarity with industry-standard style guides such as Chicago, APA, MLA, AMA, or Oxford is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Review and edit manuscripts for grammar, punctuation, spelling, consistency, and clarity. Ensure adherence to publisher-specific or industry-standard style guides (e.g., Chicago, APA, MLA, AMA). Apply and maintain house style sheets, checking for uniformity in terminology, citations, and formatting. Verify factual accuracy, cross-check references, and suggest improvements where necessary. Structuring and ordering of the files and raise author queries as required. Short tagging as per XML requirements and tagging of the index entries. Style references and footnotes as per the client guidelines and ensure placement of their in-text citations as well. Ensuring all the elements (figures, text, boxes, tables etc.) are styled in the manuscript and consistently. Strong command of the English language, with excellent editing and rewriting skills. Attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and collaborate with different teams.
