We are looking for a land surveyor for measuring and mapping land to define legal boundaries for construction, development, and other projects. His key responsibilities includes conducting physical surveys using specialized equipment like GPS and total stations, researching historical land records, and preparing detailed maps and reports. He should be well versed wit making KML, KMZ Files on Google Earth, AutoCAD and etc. He will collaborate with engineers and architects, ensure compliance with legal regulations, and present their findings to clients and stakeholders.
Core responsibilities
Conduct surveys: Perform physical surveys using specialized equipment such as GPS, total stations, and theodolites to measure and determine land boundaries, features, and topography.
Data collection and analysis: Gather and analyze data to create accurate maps, plans, and reports, ensuring the precision of all measurements and calculations.
Research: Examine historical land records, survey records, and property titles to understand the context and history of the land.
Boundary establishment: Establish and verify official land and property lines, often involving fieldwork and problem-solving.
Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, architects, construction teams, and other professionals to provide accurate land information for projects.
Reporting and presentation: Prepare and present detailed maps, FMB (Field Measurement Book), legal descriptions, and reports to clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
Required skills and qualifications
Education: A bachelor's degree in surveying, geomatics, or a related field is often required, along with professional licensure (PLS) for a senior role.
Technical proficiency: Expertise in modern surveying technology, software AutoCAD, GstarCAD, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is essential.
Analytical skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities are needed to interpret data and resolve discrepancies.
Math and geometry: A solid foundation in math, geometry, and physics is crucial for calculations and data interpretation.
Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills are necessary for working with clients and presenting findings.
Attention to detail: A passion for accuracy is vital, as is the ability to work meticulously and follow legal and technical standards.
Adaptability: The ability to work outdoors in various conditions and potentially in remote areas is often a requirement.
