Job Summary:
The Land Liaisoning Officer will be responsible for handling all land-related matters in West Bengal, including acquisition, documentation, mutation, coordination with local authorities, and ensuring compliance with state land laws. The role requires strong networking with government departments, revenue offices, and local bodies to facilitate smooth land transactions and approvals.
Key Responsibilities:
Land Identification & Acquisition:
Assist in identifying potential land parcels suitable for company projects.
Conduct site surveys and coordinate with local agents and landowners.
Verify ownership documents and ensure due diligence.
Liaisoning with Government Departments:
Maintain regular contact with local government bodies, revenue departments, and land registry offices.
Follow up on land mutation, conversion, and NOC processes.
Obtain clearances, approvals, and licenses related to land use and development.
Documentation & Legal Coordination:
Ensure all land-related documents are properly verified, stamped, and registered.
Coordinate with the legal department for title verification and deed drafting.
Maintain updated records of agreements, deeds, and correspondence.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all land acquisition rules, local municipal norms, and state laws.
Monitor land tax, cess payments, and revenue record updates.
Stakeholder Management:
Build strong relations with local communities, panchayats, and landowners.
Handle negotiations and conflict resolution effectively.
Reporting:
Prepare regular MIS reports on land status, progress, and issues.
Update management on risks, timelines, and government policy changes.
Qualifications & Experience:
Graduate in any discipline (preferably Law / Political Science / Rural Management / Land Management).
5-10 years of relevant experience in land liaisoning, preferably in West Bengal.
Strong knowledge of local land laws, registration procedures, and government processes.
Proficiency in Bengali and Hindi; English preferred.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and networking skills.
Willingness to travel extensively within the state.
Preferred Background:
Experience in sectors such as real estate, infrastructure, renewable energy, or industrial projects.
Good rapport with state and local administrative departments.
