Job Summary:

The Laser Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining laser cutting and engraving machines to produce high-quality parts and components according to specifications. This role requires attention to detail, technical expertise, and a strong focus on quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Machine Operation:

Set up and calibrate laser cutting/engraving machines according to work orders and blueprints. Load and unload materials such as metal, plastic, wood, or glass into the machine. Monitor machine operation to ensure proper cutting speed, power, and accuracy.

Quality Control:

Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and customer specifications. Identify and correct any defects or inconsistencies in the final product. Maintain accurate records of production output and quality issues.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

Perform routine maintenance on laser machines, including cleaning lenses and replacing worn parts. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to minimize downtime. Report major malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.

Safety and Compliance:

Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company standards.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain production logs and machine maintenance records. Document any machine issues and corrective actions taken.

Skills and Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience operating CNC or laser cutting machines preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints. Basic computer skills and familiarity with machine programming. Strong attention to detail and quality focus. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods. Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and heat.
