The Labour Welfare Officer is responsible for promoting employee welfare, ensuring compliance with labour laws, maintaining healthy industrial relations, and acting as a link between management and workers. The role focuses on employee well-being, statutory compliance, and grievance handling.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with all applicable labour laws, factory acts, and welfare legislations
Implement and monitor employee welfare programs (canteen, sanitation, safety, housing, medical facilities, etc.)
Handle employee grievances and resolve workplace issues in coordination with management
Act as a liaison between employees, management, and government labour authorities
Maintain statutory registers, records, and documentation as per labour laws
Conduct awareness programs on labour rights, safety, and welfare measures
Support disciplinary procedures and domestic enquiries when required
Assist in audits, inspections, and compliance reporting
Promote healthy industrial relations and a positive work environment
Qualifications & Experience
Master degree in Social Work, Labour Studies, HR, or related field
Diploma or certification in Labour Welfare / Industrial Relations (preferred)
Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role
Sound knowledge of labour laws and statutory compliance
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of labour legislation and compliance requirements
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities
Record-keeping and documentation skills
Ability to work independently and handle sensitive issues confidentially
