- Labour Ward Staff

Position:

Labour Ward Nurse / Assistant

Obstetrics & Gynecology

Location:

Malar Hospital, Hosur

Reports To:

Labour Ward In-Charge / Nursing Superintendent

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor and assess the condition of mothers during labor and delivery. Assist obstetricians/gynecologists during normal and emergency deliveries. Administer medications and IV fluids as per doctor's advice. Maintain accurate documentation of labor progress, vitals, and delivery details. Prepare delivery rooms and sterilize equipment. Provide postpartum care and newborn care immediately after birth. Offer emotional and physical support to patients and families. Report any complications or abnormal signs to the physician immediately. Follow all hospital infection control and safety protocols. Coordinate with NICU or pediatric teams for baby care when needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

GNM/B.Sc. Nursing (Registered with Nursing Council) Minimum 1-2 years of experience in Labour/OBG ward (Freshers may also apply) Compassionate, calm, and able to handle stress in emergency situations Strong communication and patient care skills Willingness to work rotational shifts, including night duties
