Job Summary:



The Labour Officer at the Soot Girni is responsible for maintaining harmonious Labour relations, ensuring compliance with Labour laws, handling workers' welfare activities, and acting as a bridge between management and workers. The officer ensures that all statutory obligations concerning Labour are met and contributes to a productive and fair work environment in the mill.

Key Responsibilities:



Ensure strict compliance with Labour laws such as the Factories Act, Industrial Disputes Act, and related state and central legislation. Maintain healthy Labour relations by proactively resolving worker grievances, disputes, and complaints. Monitor and report on working conditions, workplace safety, and employee welfare within the mill premises. Maintain and submit statutory records such as muster rolls, wage registers, accident records, and others as per Labour laws. Liaise with government Labour departments and participate in audits, inspections, and hearings. Coordinate with trade unions, represent management in Labour negotiations, and support collective bargaining processes. Organize welfare programs, skill development, and awareness training for workers. Supervise contract Labour compliance and ensure their treatment is as per legal norms. Assist in disciplinary proceedings and maintain records of show-cause notices, inquiries, and actions taken.

Qualifications and Skills:



Education:

Bachelor's degree in Labour Welfare, Social Work, Industrial Relations, or Law. A postgraduate diploma in Labour Laws or Industrial Relations is preferred.

Experience:

3-5 years of experience in a Labour relations role, preferably in a textile or manufacturing setup.

Knowledge:

Indian Labour Laws and relevant State Acts Compliance requirements under the Factories Act Industrial dispute resolution and worker welfare management

Skills:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills (Marathi/Hindi/local language fluency preferred) Good negotiation and problem-solving abilities Documentation and report writing skills

Preferred:



Registration under Maharashtra Labour Welfare Board or similar local authority Experience working with a unionized workforce Familiarity with ESI, PF, and Labour welfare schemes

Working Conditions:



On-site job at the mill; may involve working in shifts. Interaction with workers, contractors, supervisors, and government inspectors.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ?30,000.00 - ?50,000.00 per month
