To lead and manage all operations of the Pathology Laboratory, ensuring accurate, timely, and safe diagnostic services in compliance with NABH, ISO and NABL and statutory standards, while building a competent, disciplined, and patient-centric laboratory team.
Job Responsibilities:
Ensure accuracy, reliability, and timeliness of all laboratory results.
Implement and monitor quality control and quality assurance systems.
Maintain NABH, ISO and NABL and regulatory compliance for all laboratory processes.
Lead internal audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure patient safety, sample integrity, and bio-medical waste compliance.
Oversee end-to-end lab operations: sample collection, processing, reporting, and dispatch.
Ensure adherence to TAT (Turnaround Time) benchmarks across all tests.
Manage equipment uptime, calibration, validation, and maintenance schedules.
Ensure availability of reagents, consumables, and proper inventory control.
Coordinate with clinical departments for seamless diagnostic support.
Lead, mentor, and evaluate Pathologists, Technicians, and Support Staff.
Ensure structured induction, competency assessment, and ongoing training.
Build a culture of discipline, accountability, and service excellence.
Prepare duty rosters and ensure optimal staffing across shifts.
Ensure all SOPs, manuals, and records are current and implemented.
Maintain documentation for NABH, ISO and NABL inspections, and statutory audits.
Track and report quality indicators (TAT, errors, repeats, complaints, etc.).
Lead incident reporting, root cause analysis, and preventive actions.
Oversee and ensure technicians communicate clearly and consistently regarding test protocols and the reporting of critical values.
Supervise patient handling processes and manage clinician escalations to guarantee timely resolution of laboratory service concerns.

MSc or equivalent in Pathology / Medical Laboratory Sciences
Qualification in Six Sigma/Advanced Laboratory Quality Assurance Courses
Minimum 10 - 15 years of laboratory experience, including 3-5 years in a leadership role
Strong knowledge of NABH standards and laboratory quality systems
