Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to support diagnostic and clinical laboratory operations in a hospital environment. The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing patient samples to assist physicians in accurate diagnosis and treatment. The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong technical skills, adherence to quality standards, and a commitment to patient safety and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

Collect, label, and process patient samples such as blood, urine, and other specimens following standard protocols. Perform routine laboratory tests including hematology, biochemistry, serology, and microbiology as assigned. Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment and analyzers. Ensure accuracy and timely reporting of test results to physicians and clinical departments. Follow quality control procedures and maintain laboratory records and registers. Adhere strictly to infection control, biosafety, and waste disposal guidelines. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laboratory at all times. Assist in inventory management of laboratory reagents, consumables, and equipment. Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and other departments for smooth laboratory operations. Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.

Qualifications & Skills

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT / BMLT). Valid registration with relevant authorities, where applicable. 0-3 years of experience in a clinical or hospital laboratory. Knowledge of laboratory equipment, testing procedures, and quality standards. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills. Good communication skills and commitment to patient confidentiality and ethical practices.
