A Lab Technician is responsible for supporting laboratory processes related to diagnostics by collecting, labelling, analyzing, and reporting on biological samples accurately. They maintain and calibrate lab equipment, ensure safety protocols, and assist in producing reliable test results essential for patient care.
Key Responsibility:
1. Receive the patients with a pleasant smile and wish them.
2. Collect, receive, label, and store samples properly following safety guidelines.
3. Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests as instructed, ensuring accurate data recording and reporting.
4. Receive reports of various blood samples (IPD/OPD).
5. Clean, sterilize, maintain, and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment.
6. Washing and drying, sterilization of glass wares for reuse in concerned departments.
7. Follow infection control and biomedical waste disposal procedures diligently.
8. Maintain laboratory logs, prepare reports, and assist senior technicians or lab managers.
9. Manage inventory and order laboratory supplies as needed.
10. Help the Chief of Laboratory Medicine in maintaining the files.
11. Maintain the files of department wise records of tests, new added test, bills or outsourcing labs.
12. Maintain the dispatch register.
13. Maintain the record of duplicate reports.
14. Mention lab test turn around time in bill.
15. Run the sample with technical manner.
16. Delivery of lab test reports after verification of patient bill.
17. Assist in department activities getting patients files from wards , receipt from store, carry lab indent stationery, surgical, maintenance items from lab store to lab sub store and then to concerned departments.
18. Maintain biomedical waste Management.
19. Document all internal quality control results.
20. Report on all biochemistry samples.
21. Ensure that all reports are dispatched on time without any delay.
22. Establish, implement and maintain internal quality control in Laboratory.
23. Participate in EQAS and ensuring satisfactory results.
24. Review the performance of technicians.
25. Train new technicians.
26. Ensure that all staff is aware of proper waste disposal methods and waste disposal monitoring.
27. Ensure the maintenance and monitoring of all equipment in Lab.
28. Maintain all documents and records.
29. Ensure that prompt action is taken for all non-conformities.
30. Revise the SOPs regularly and ensuring that the work procedures are being followed.
31. Check the referral lab investigations sample collection, turn around time periodically.
32. Purchase and order small and urgent materials and works through the Admin.
Qualification:
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry or Medical Laboratory Technology.
Experience:
1.
Overall
: 3 years of experience working in healthcare laboratory settings, preferably in pathology labs.
2.
Relevant:
Fresher or 3 years of experience working in healthcare laboratory settings.
3. Freshers are welcomed.

Age:
23 to 26 Years.

Salary:
1. Fresher- salary will be provided 10000 to 11000.
2. Experience- Salary will be provided 15000 to 20000.

Technical Skills:
1. Laboratory Equipment and Techniques: Ability to use microscopes, centrifuges, analyzers, perform sample preparation, staining, biochemical/microbiological/hematology tests.
2. Sample collection, handling & processing, and correct specimen management: Proper collection of blood/urine/other samples, correct labelling, storage, avoiding contamination, following bio-safety / sterilization procedures.
3. Quality control, calibration & validation procedures: Ensuring tests are reliable & reproducible, equipment is functioning correctly, controls are used, records maintained.
4. Data recording, report preparation and documentation: Logging sample data, test results, maintaining records; preparing reports for physicians, accurate documentation is critical.
5. Basic medical/clinical knowledge & familiarization with medical terminology: Helps in understanding test requisitions, interpreting results in context, coordinating with doctors/clinical staff.
6. Awareness of lab-safety, hygiene, bio-hazard protocols, waste disposal: Working in a clinical lab involves handling biological samples, knowledge of safety norms is essential.
