with hands-on experience in maintaining, calibrating, and troubleshooting instrumentation used in petrochemical laboratories in our Viswa Group. The ideal candidate will ensure uninterrupted lab operations by ensuring all analytical and testing instruments are functioning efficiently, safely, and in compliance with standard procedures.
Responsibilities:
Instrument Maintenance:
Perform routine and preventive maintenance of analytical instruments such as GC, FTIR, HPLC, Viscometer, Flash Point Tester, TBN/TAN analyzer, KF Titrator, and other petroleum testing equipment.
Calibration & Validation:
Carry out calibration of laboratory equipment as per SOPs and industry standards (ASTM, ISO, IP methods). Maintain calibration logs and certificates.
Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and resolve technical issues with instruments and escalate to vendors when required. Minimize downtime through timely interventions.
Documentation:
Maintain records of maintenance, service reports, breakdown logs, and calibration data in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 or similar quality systems.
Inventory Management:
Monitor and manage inventory of spare parts and consumables related to lab instruments.
Compliance & Safety:
Adhere to lab safety procedures and ensure instruments comply with environmental, health, and safety standards.
Vendor Coordination:
Liaise with OEMs and service providers for annual maintenance contracts (AMC), repairs, and upgrades.
Requirements:
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical, or related discipline.
1-3 years of relevant experience in maintenance of instruments in a chemical/petrochemical/testing lab.
Familiarity with testing methods like ASTM, ISO, IP, etc.
Experience in maintenance of lab equipment like Density meter, Viscometer, Fumehood, internal and external calibration
Knowledge of computer interfaced instruments and data acquisition software.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and time management.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
