Their responsibilities include collecting and processing samples, performing tests, analyzing results, and maintaining laboratory equipment. They work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely results, which are crucial for patient care.

Detailed Responsibilities:



Sample Collection and Handling:

Lab technicians collect and prepare patient samples such as blood, urine, and tissue for analysis, ensuring proper labeling, storage, and transport to the laboratory.

Performing Laboratory Tests:

They use a range of equipment and techniques to perform various tests, including basic blood counts and complex genetic analyses.

Analyzing Test Results:

After performing tests, they analyze the results and provide accurate reports to healthcare providers, ensuring the results are reliable for making treatment decisions.

Maintaining Laboratory Equipment:

Lab technicians are responsible for maintaining, calibrating, and troubleshooting laboratory equipment.

Quality Control:

They perform quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory results.

Documentation and Record Keeping:

Lab technicians accurately document test results, equipment maintenance, and other relevant information in patient records.

Collaboration with Healthcare Professionals:
