Job Summary: The Lab Technician for Soil Testing is responsible for conducting various tests and analyses on soil samples to assess their physical, chemical, and biological properties. This role plays a vital part in ensuring accurate and reliable data that supports agricultural, construction, environmental, and land management initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Sample Collection and Preparation:Collect soil samples from various locations as per project requirements.
Prepare soil samples for analysis, including drying, grinding, and sieving. Soil Testing:Conduct a variety of soil tests, such as pH testing, nutrient analysis, soil texture determination, compaction tests, moisture content analysis, and other relevant assessments.
Operate laboratory equipment and instruments to ensure precise and consistent results. Data Management:Record and document test results accurately, ensuring proper organization and maintenance of data. Report Generation:Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing soil test results, including recommendations for land use or treatment. Quality Control:Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to guarantee accurate and reliable testing.
Follow safety procedures and protocols to maintain a safe working environment and avoid sample contamination. Client Communication:Collaborate with clients, researchers, and environmental scientists to provide information and discuss findings. Research and Development:Stay updated on the latest soil testing techniques and methods.
Participate in research and method development to enhance laboratory processes. Qualifications:

• Bachelor\'s degree in Soil Science, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a related field preferred.
• Relevant certification in soil testing or laboratory work is a plus.
• Experience working in a laboratory or soil testing environment is desirable.
• Knowledge of laboratory equipment operation and maintenance.
• Familiarity with soil testing standards and protocols.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
• Effective communication skills for collaboration and reporting.
• Commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
