to support the diagnostic team by collecting, preparing, testing, and analyzing biological samples. The ideal candidate should have sound technical knowledge, good manual dexterity, and a strong commitment to quality and safety in lab operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Collect and label patient samples (blood, urine, sputum, etc.) following standard procedures.
Prepare specimens for analysis and perform diagnostic tests using automated and manual techniques.
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment like centrifuges, microscopes, and analyzers.
Accurately document results and enter data into Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).
Follow internal quality control protocols and participate in external quality assurance (EQA) programs.
Maintain cleanliness and sterility in the lab environment and work surfaces.
Dispose of hazardous and bio-medical waste according to health and safety guidelines.
Report abnormal results or equipment malfunctions to supervisors immediately.
Assist in inventory management of lab consumables and reagents.
Required Qualifications:
Diploma / B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT/BMLT) or equivalent.
Registration with the relevant Paramedical Council
Minimum 1 year of practical experience in a clinical lab setup (preferred).
Familiarity with standard laboratory equipment and testing methods.
Basic computer skills and knowledge of Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).
Desirable Skills:
Attention to detail and precision.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle biological samples safely and ethically.
Knowledge of NABL/NABH guidelines is an advantage.
