Job Description

Patient Preparation:

Explain the procedure to patients, address their concerns, and ensure their comfort.

Venipuncture:

Perform venipuncture (drawing blood from veins) using proper techniques and equipment.

Sample Handling:

Label samples correctly, process them according to procedures, and transport them to the lab.

Record Keeping:

Accurately update patient information and specimen details in electronic health records.

Equipment Maintenance:

Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper disposal of sharps.

Patient Education:

Instruct patients on proper collection procedures for other samples, such as urine.
Additional Skills:

Communication:

Strong interpersonal skills to interact with patients and explain procedures.

Accuracy:

Attention to detail to ensure accurate sample collection and labeling.

Problem-Solving:

Ability to troubleshoot issues and address challenges that may arise during blood draws.
