Job Description

Perform routine cotton tests including length, strength, micronaire, and trash content using instruments like HVI (High Volume Instrument) and Trash Analyzers. Prepare and process cotton samples for analysis following standard testing protocols. Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments to ensure accurate results. Record and interpret test data; prepare reports for internal teams or clients. Maintain proper documentation of test procedures, results, and daily logs. Ensure compliance with quality standards and lab safety procedures. Support senior lab staff during audits, inspections, and process improvements. Troubleshoot basic issues with equipment and coordinate with vendors for repairs as needed. Minimum 3 years of experience in cotton testing or a textile lab environment or science background - Instrumentation. Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 or other lab certification standards. Familiarity with cotton quality parameters and testing protocols. Experience using instruments like HVI, Micronaire Tester, Pressley Strength Tester, etc. Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and ability to follow precise procedures. Basic computer skills for data entry and report preparation. Good communication skills for inter-department coordination. Exposure to textile quality systems or third-party testing labs.
