Job Description

Role Overview:



We are looking for an experienced and dedicated

Assistant Manager - Lab Technical Operations

to oversee and optimize technical operations across our lab departments. This leadership role is key in maintaining high-quality test standards, shortest possible turnaround times (TAT), and operational excellence in a high-volume reference lab handling Lab-to-Lab (L2L) and Hospital-to-Lab (H2L) samples.

Key Responsibilities



Operational Oversight & Workflow Management



Manage end-to-end lab functions across pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical phases Monitor TAT dashboards and resolve delays through team and resource coordination Streamline L2L, H2L, and home collection sample workflows with proper prioritization

Quality & Compliance



Ensure compliance with NABL / ISO 15189:2022 standards Manage internal/external quality control programs (IQC, EQAS) Investigate non-conformities, perform root cause analysis, and implement CAPA

Inventory & Equipment Management



Supervise reagent and consumables inventory with expiry tracking and reordering Coordinate equipment calibration, preventive maintenance, and downtime logging Maintain documentation logs and compliance reports

Team Leadership & Training



Lead, mentor, and schedule technicians and junior staff across shifts Conduct regular training and reinforce SOP adherence Facilitate inter-department collaboration and handover efficiency

Sample & Reporting Coordination



Oversee sample integrity checks, barcode accessioning, and LIMS updates Coordinate with the reporting team for critical values and timely dispatch Communicate effectively with referring labs, collection centers, and hospitals

Documentation & Audit Readiness



Maintain SOP versions, temperature logs, water quality records, and decontamination logs Ensure full audit readiness with up-to-date regulatory documentation

Core Technical Areas



Clinical Biochemistry, Special Biochemistry, Immunoassay, Hematology, Coagulation, Electrophoresis, Immunofluorescence (IFA), HPLC, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Cytopathology, Histopathology, Clinical Pathology, Microbiology, Serology, Molecular Diagnostics, and Cytogenetics.

Platforms & Tools: Automated analyzers, CLIA, ECLIA, ELISA, IFA, IHC, Electrophoresis, RT-PCR, HPLC, LIMS, barcode systems, and cold chain management.

Qualifications & Skills



DMLT / BMLT / B.Sc. in Life Sciences or equivalent Minimum 6 years of diagnostic lab experience, with technical supervision exposure Strong knowledge of NABL and ISO 15189:2022 standards Proficiency in LIMS, MS Excel, and lab inventory tools Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
