Lab Supervisor - Roles & Responsibilities

Laboratory Operations

Supervise day-to-day laboratory activities to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Ensure timely sample processing, testing, and reporting as per defined TAT. Monitor workload distribution among lab staff.

Quality & Compliance

Ensure adherence to NABL / ISO / CAP standards and internal quality protocols. Monitor Internal Quality Control (IQC) and participate in External Quality Assurance (EQA) programs. Maintain and update SOPs, records, and documentation.

Staff Supervision & Training

Supervise lab technicians and assistants. Conduct regular training and competency assessments. Ensure proper duty rosters, attendance, and discipline of lab staff.

Equipment & Inventory Management

Ensure proper operation, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory equipment. Coordinate with service engineers for breakdowns and preventive maintenance. Monitor inventory levels of reagents, consumables, and ensure timely procurement.

Sample & Biosafety Management

Ensure proper sample collection, labeling, storage, and disposal. Enforce biosafety guidelines and infection control practices. Ensure biomedical waste segregation and disposal as per regulations.

Reporting & Documentation

Verify test reports before release, where applicable. Ensure accuracy and confidentiality of patient data and reports. Maintain logs, registers, and audit-ready documentation.

Audit & Inspection Support

Support internal, external, and NABL audits. Ensure corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) are implemented for audit findings.

Coordination & Communication

Coordinate with pathologists, clinicians, front office, and logistics teams. Address technical escalations and resolve operational issues promptly.

Cost & Process Control

Monitor reagent usage, wastage control, and cost optimization. Suggest process improvements for efficiency and quality enhancement.

Emergency & Escalation Handling

Handle equipment failures, critical values, and emergency situations. Escalate critical issues to Lab Manager / Pathologist / Management as required.

Pay: ?25,000.00 - ?40,000.00 per month
