Job Summary:

The Mechanical Lab Instructor will be responsible for supporting the delivery of practical instruction and laboratory sessions for mechanical engineering students. This role involves preparing experiments, guiding students in hands-on learning, maintaining lab equipment, ensuring safety standards, and assisting faculty in course delivery. The instructor plays a key role in bridging theoretical concepts with practical application.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and guide students during laboratory sessions in mechanical engineering courses (e.g., Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Strength of Materials, Heat Transfer, etc.) Prepare lab equipment and materials ahead of scheduled sessions. Demonstrate proper use of laboratory instruments and machinery (e.g., lathe machines, CNC, hydraulic systems, tensile testing machines, etc.) Ensure all experiments are conducted safely and according to standard operating procedures. Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot lab equipment to ensure it is in good working condition. Keep an inventory of lab materials and order supplies as needed. Grade lab reports and provide feedback. Ensure students comply with all safety protocols and use PPE as required. Stay updated on new technologies and methods relevant to mechanical engineering labs.

Qualifications:

Education:

Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

Experience:

Minimum 1-3 years of hands-on experience in a mechanical lab or similar technical environment

Certifications:

Relevant safety or technical certifications (preferred)

Skills and Competencies:

Strong practical knowledge of mechanical engineering lab equipment and tools Ability to explain complex technical concepts in a simple, student-friendly manner Good organizational and time-management skills Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Familiarity with lab safety regulations and protocols Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Competence in using CAD software or instrumentation tools (optional but advantageous)

Working Conditions:

Work is conducted in a lab environment with exposure to mechanical tools and equipment. May be required to lift or move heavy equipment occasionally. Must adhere to all institutional safety regulations.

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹24,000.00 per month
