Job Summary:
The Lab Instructor for Computer Science and Engineering will support the academic and research objectives of the department by managing and delivering high-quality instructional labs. This role involves coordinating and supervising laboratory sessions, assisting students with research projects, and ensuring that the lab environment fosters innovation and research excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Instruction and Lab Management:
- Prepare and deliver laboratory sessions for undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Computer Science and Engineering.
- Develop and update lab manuals, exercises, and instructional materials.
- Ensure that laboratory equipment and software are properly maintained and up-to-date.
2. Student Support and Supervision:
- Provide guidance and support to students during lab sessions and research activities.
- Assist students with troubleshooting technical issues and understanding complex concepts.
- Conduct individual and group consultations to aid in the completion of lab assignments and research projects.
3. Research and Innovation:
- Collaborate with faculty and research teams to integrate cutting-edge technologies and methodologies into lab exercises.
- Support and facilitate student involvement in research projects and innovation initiatives.
- Assist in the development and execution of research experiments and prototypes.
4. Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate records of lab activities, student performance, and equipment usage.
- Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation for accreditation and program reviews.
- Manage lab inventory and coordinate the procurement of lab supplies and equipment.
5. Professional Development:
- Stay current with advancements in Computer Science and Engineering, including emerging technologies and industry trends.
- Participate in departmental meetings, workshops, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Education:Diploma / Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience:Prior experience in a lab or instructional role within a CSE department is preferred.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in programming languages, software development, and computer systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a research-focused environment.
