Job Description

A Lab Chemist performs chemical analyses, experiments, and tests on substances to support research, quality control, and product development, involving preparing solutions, operating equipment (like chromatography/spectroscopy), documenting results, ensuring safety compliance (SOPs, GLP), and collaborating with other scientists.

Conduct Experiments:

Perform routine and non-routine chemical tests, research, and analyses.

Sample Analysis:

Analyze raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products using techniques like chromatography and spectroscopy.

Preparation:

Prepare solutions, compounds, and reagents for testing.

Data & Reporting:

Document all activities, interpret results, compare them to specifications, and write technical reports.

Equipment Management:

Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot lab instruments and equipment.

Quality & Safety:

Ensure compliance with safety protocols (SOPs, GLP) and quality standards.

Collaboration:

Work with R&D, production, and other scientists on projects and problem-solving.
Essential Skills & Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field (advanced degree often preferred).

Technical Skills:

Strong understanding of chemical principles, lab safety, data analysis, and specific analytical techniques.

Soft Skills:

Excellent problem-solving, analytical, organizational, communication (written/oral), and teamwork skills.

Attention to detail, methodical approach, self-motivation, and ability to work independently.
