B.Sc. Chemistry with a minimum experience of 6+ years /5+ years respectively in any Oil & gas Plant laboratory/ Petroleum Research institute etc.

Job Profile

o

Maintenance of laboratory equipment and to ensure laboratory operations protocols are met for effective management of the chemical laboratory.

o

Associated with the Rajasthan operations to achieve the company business needs by performance in safety, productivity, and cost.

o

Supervise and Provide guidance and support to BP staff. Planning and scheduling of daily activities and special studies.

o

Approved standard operating procedure for each test carried out in the lab with safety and environments aspects involved with each test will be followed as mentioned in the procedure.

o

Ensure that Calibration schedules for the laboratory equipment's, standard solutions are carried out and recorded in the work register and LIMS.

o

Ensure that the analyzed samples are disposed in the respective waste containers and disposed of in proper drains.

o

Ensure that all records /certificates are maintained and updated.

o

Accountabilities& responsibilities for effective implementation, value adding application & continuous improvement towards Asset Optimization (AO) program & Vedanta Sustainability Assurance program (VSAP).

o

Good experience in handling laboratory equipment i.e Gas Chromatograph, Sulphur analyzer chromatograph, Spectrometer FTIR, inductively coupled plasma, KF Titrator, Spectrophotometer, KF- Coulometer, DO Analysis meter, Cloud & Pour point Bath Apparatus, Viscosity Apparatus etc.

o

Well versed with ASTM, NACE & APHA standards for Laboratory analysis.

o

Good experience in handling analysis for Natural gas, Crude Oil and water.

o

Below are some critical factors for which the company is expecting the candidate to be competent enough for maintaining day to day quality:

o

Injectivity of Injection water by NACE method.

o

TSS of Injection water by filtration method.

o

Oil In water by Spectrophotometry.

o

SRB measurements by MPN method.

o

Calcium & Barium Inhibition tests.

o

Residual analysis of Corrosion & Scale Inhibitors.

o

Iron by Spectrophotometry.

o

BS&W in Oil by Centrifuge method as per ASTM standard.

o

Water in Oil by distillation method as per ASTM standard

o

Crude oil density by Hydrometer.

o

API gravity in Oil.

o

Pour Point, RVP and Salt content in Oil.

o

Moisture content in Gas samples.

o

Dew point in gas samples.

o

GAS analysis by Gas chromatography.

o

Incoming chemicals quality checks by FTIR figure printing.

o

Candidate having basic knowledge on process chemicals for addressing dehydration issues, Corrosion and scaling issues will be an added advantage.

o

Good team player with efficient and clear communication skills to manage business partner's laboratory operation.
