Principle Role & Responsibilities: We are seeking a responsible Lab Assistant to join our team and contribute to various laboratory tasks.

Academic

• Assist students in usage of laboratory equipment.
• Oversee students in the use of an laboratory equipment and maintain a proper study atmosphere.
• Responsible for following established protocols, maintaining meticulous records, and upholding safety guidelines.
• Assist in setting up laboratory equipment for science classes, etc.
• Assist the science teacher in testing out new laboratory experiments prior to classroom implementation.
• Perform sampling, testing, measuring, recording, and analyzing in collaboration with the rest of the lab team.

Administrative

• Maintain inventory of laboratory equipment and supplies.
• Inform science teachers as to when new supplies and equipment are needed, and helps with ordering.
• Keep laboratory equipment clean and in good working order.
• Collect and distribute lab materials.
• Perform laboratory tests including pre- and post-analytic phases.
• Prepare samples/specimens
• Produce accurate and reliable data and interpret results.
• Adhere to correct procedures, policies and health/safety guidelines.
• Keep abreast of all industry developments and best practices.
• Document all activities, record results and insert/retrieve data.
• Maintain work area and equipment.
• Provide administrative assistance.

Age: 25 - 40 Years

Experience: 1 - 3 Years of relevant experience.

Qualification: HSc Science/DMLT.

Key Skills:

• Proven working experience as a Lab Assistant
• Familiarity with automated laboratory equipment
• Computer literacy and experience with Laboratory Information Systems
• Accuracy and close attention to detail
• Strong analytical judgement.
• Attention to detail and ability to work effectively within a team.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in a laboratory environment and a strong commitment to accuracy to ensure the extraction of reliable and valid results.
