Academics:

Providing technical support to the lab in charge of science. Contributing to students' learning experience by assisting with the preparation of materials and apparatus for practical work, innovating and creating new equipment.
Maintenance:

Taking care of laboratory equipment and apparatus Carrying out and arranging for maintenance and repair of resources Stock taking and organizing the storing of chemicals and equipment A Risk Assessment needs to be conducted by the Laboratory Assistant at the end of every month. General Laboratory cleaning: bench surfaces and fixed equipment (laboratory sinks, emptying/supervising the emptying of sink traps) Disposing of waste materials The laboratory equipment (apparatus, chemicals, models, charts) is to be maintained by the respective Laboratory Assistant. An Inventory of laboratory equipment is to be maintained by each of the Laboratory Assistants in a Record Book. A Stock Register is to be maintained by the Laboratory Assistant and needs to be updated every month The laboratory coats need to be maintained by the Laboratory Assistant. The Laboratory Assistant needs to ensure the safe storage of hazardous chemicals and equipment.
Operational:

Collecting, checking and returning equipment to stores Making up solutions, assembling apparatus, and delivering equipment to rooms.
Technical:

Providing technical support to experienced and trainee teachers including health and safety guidance

Keeping up to date with developments in practical science and health and safety requirements Carrying out health and safety checks on laboratories, prep rooms and stores
Graduate with B.Sc

Minimum 5 - 7 years of relevant experience
