Job Purpose

To assist in the smooth functioning of the Costume Design and Fashion Laboratory by managing equipment, materials, and supporting students and faculty during practical sessions.

Key Responsibilities:

Laboratory Setup and Maintenance

Prepare the lab for practical sessions, ensuring all equipment, tools, and materials are ready for use. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the lab. Ensure proper storage and labeling of fabrics, sewing machines, mannequins, and other lab materials.

Equipment Handling and Maintenance:

Operate and maintain sewing machines, cutting tables, pressing equipment, and other specialized tools used in costume and fashion design. Perform minor repairs and notify the concerned authority for major repairs or replacements. Maintain a regular checklist of equipment condition and report any discrepancies.

Material Inventory Management:

Maintain an updated inventory of fabrics, sewing supplies, tools, and other consumables. Assist in requisitioning new materials as needed, based on stock levels and faculty requirements.

Support During Practical Sessions:

Assist faculty members in conducting practical classes. Provide hands-on support to students for operating equipment safely and effectively. Ensure adherence to safety protocols during lab sessions.

Documentation and Record Keeping:

Maintain records of lab usage, material consumption, and equipment maintenance. Assist in preparing reports related to lab activities as requested by the HOD or management.

Safety and Compliance:

Ensure lab adheres to safety standards and guidelines. Educate students on proper handling of equipment and safety measures.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

Minimum qualification: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Textile Technology, or related field. Prior experience in a fashion/costume design lab is preferred. Good knowledge of sewing machines, garment construction tools, and fashion lab equipment. Strong organizational and communication skills. Basic computer knowledge for record-keeping.

Other Requirements:

Good interpersonal skills to assist faculty and students effectively. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness to take additional training as required. Apply through mail -
