Lab Assistant/ Associate Chemist - QC Department (R&D Support)

1. Role Summary



The Lab Assistant / Associate Chemist will support the Quality Control (QC) and R&D teams by performing raw material testing, analytical procedures, production quality checks, and maintaining laboratory documentation. The role requires hands-on experience in laboratory operations, basic analytical skills, and the ability to work in a shift-based production environment when required.

2. Key Responsibilities



A. Material Testing & Analysis



Conduct activated carbon raw material testing and analysis as per QC standards. Perform routine tests using instruments such as: Moisture Analyzer Bulk Density Apparatus CTC Activity Test Setup Laboratory Oven & Furnace Assist with production quality tests and ensure timely reporting to the QC team.

B. Chemical & Wet Lab Activities



Prepare chemical solutions, reagents and carry out purity checks (preferred but not mandatory). Support wet lab analysis procedures under supervision.

C. Production Support



Provide production quality test support on a shift basis when required. Assist in performance evaluation tests such as: EN 14387 ASTM 6646 Record, analyze, and maintain test data accurately.

D. Documentation & Digital Data Management



Maintain laboratory records, logbooks, and reports as per QC norms. Proficiently handle MS Excel and MS Word (Mandatory) for data entry, analysis, and report preparation. Use any available lab software (optional but an advantage).

E. Equipment & Facility Management



Support instrument maintenance, calibration checks, and routine upkeep (optional but appreciated). Ensure proper implementation of 5S standards and lab housekeeping. Follow all safety, compliance, and quality protocols.

3. Desired Skills & Competencies



Knowledge of activated carbon materials and manufacturing processes (optional but preferred). Understanding of lab testing procedures and analytical techniques. Ability to work in a fast-paced production and laboratory environment. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and documentation discipline. Willingness to work in rotational shift-based assignments. Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with QC, R&D, and Production teams.

4. Qualification & Experience



ITI / Diploma

(Chemical, Lab Technician, Carbon Industry background preferred)

OR BSc Chemistry

Experience in chemical / carbon industry / QA / QC labs is an advantage. Quality certifications or lab instrument experience will be highly appreciated.

5. Work Environment



Laboratory and production floor-based work. Rotating shifts based on production and QC needs. Exposure to activated carbon, chemicals, and lab equipment.

Pay: ?11,000.00 - ?14,000.00 per month
