L3 Network Engineer - Assistant Manager

Key Job Responsibilities:

Advanced Troubleshooting with Tejas Switches (CLI & EMS):
Diagnose and resolve Layer 2/3 issues in Tejas-based field, aggregation, and core networks. Use CLI and Tejas EMS/NMS tools for configuring MPLS, QinQ, VLANs, multicast (PIM/IGMP), and traffic engineering.

FortiGate Firewall Design & Security Policy Enforcement:

Configure and manage FortiGate firewalls for secure perimeter and internal segmentation, including UTM features, VPNs (IPSec/SSL), web filtering, NAT policies, and HA clusters. Integrate with FortiManager/FortiAnalyzer for centralized control and logging.

Datacenter & WAN Network Design:

Design, deploy, and maintain high-availability datacenter networks with redundant uplinks, dynamic routing (OSPF/BGP), and load balancing. Architect WAN connectivity with QoS policies, traffic shaping, and secure remote access for distributed sites.

Multicast Network Optimization for IP Video Surveillance:

Configure and monitor multicast video streams across switches to support IP camera backhaul to VMS servers, ensuring IGMP snooping, PIM sparse/dense modes, and QoS markings are optimized for video reliability.

Automation & Configuration Management (CLI/Scripting):

Develop and use Python/Bash/Ansible scripts for bulk configuration deployment, health checks, and config backup on Tejas and Fortinet devices. Standardize network configurations through template-based automation.

Monitoring, Documentation & Knowledge Sharing:

Integrate with NMS tools (like PRTG, SolarWinds, or Tejas EMS) to track link utilization, CPU/memory health, and uptime. Maintain accurate HLDs/LLDs, device inventories, and SOPs. Mentor junior engineers and lead root cause analysis reviews.
