Profile Description
We're seeking someone to join our team as (Director) L3 DevOps & Linux Admin to ensure high level of service to customers via ticket systems, outage bridges as well as maintain plant stability. It is also expected to liaise with Engineering counter parts for building, patching, creating scripts and help solve issues to maintain SLA's.
Enterprise_Technology
Enterprise Technology & Services (ETS) delivers shared technology services for Morgan Stanley supporting all business applications and end users. ETS provides capabilities for all stages of Morgan Stanley's software development lifecycle, enabling productive coding, functional and integration testing, application releases, and ongoing monitoring and support for over 3,000 production applications. ETS also delivers all workplace technologies (desktop, mobile, voice, video, productivity, intranet/internet) in integrated configurations that boost the personal productivity of employees. Application and end user functions are delivered on a scalable, secure, and reliable infrastructure composed of seamlessly integrated datacenter, network, compute, cloud, storage, and database functions.
Enterprise Computing (EC)
Enterprise Computing is a department of Core Infrastructure that provides a collection of products and services that make up the Morgan Stanley core compute infrastructure, hosting platforms and supporting application services. Solutions are delivered across the infrastructure stack from foundational hardware platforms, storage, server operating systems and virtualization up through the hosting of common web, database, middleware and reporting services.
Infrastructure Production Management & Reliability Engineering
This is Director position that maintains the stability and reliability of the organization's infrastructure systems, ensuring optimal performance and availability to support business operations.

What you'll do in the role:

• Provide the highest level of support for Morgan Stanley's platform, including on-call coverage.
• Work closely with the internal engineering team and provide input on testing of new component releases and infrastructure upgrades, as well as performance, capacity and monitoring
• Work together with other members of the global team, support and engineering teams of other products and platforms to maintain support to our customer base.
• Create and improve processes for support, including training, documentation, customer engagement, scripting, incident, problem and change management

What you'll bring to the role:

• At least 4 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role
• Experience in Linux.
• Experience in Linux Container technologies
• Experience in Linux Troubleshooting.
• Sound knowledge of server Infrastructure, Virtualization, Containerization
• Experience with Agile and DevOps/SRE concepts
• Experience with monitoring architecture - monitoring agents, dashboards, alerts
• Experience with maintaining High-Availability production systems
• Experience in some scripting language used on Linux

Nice to have:

• Experience in enterprise-level hosting environments
• Experience with operating in large, enterprise environments
• Understanding of infrastructure services like DNS, DHCP, NTP
• Understanding of internet and networking protocols, including TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS
