Job description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced KYC Analyst to join our Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Compliance team. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of proven experience in a KYC/AML role, with a strong focus on the U.S. mortgage industry. You will be responsible for performing due diligence on mortgage applicants and related parties, ensuring all documentation is accurate and in compliance with U.S. and industry-specific regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive Know Your Customer (KYC) reviews and due diligence for new and existing mortgage applicants, including individuals, trusts, and business entities.
Review, verify, and validate all client-provided documentation for a mortgage application, including identity, proof of address, pay stubs and beneficial ownership information.
Perform Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) on high-risk clients or complex mortgage transactions.
Utilize third-party data sources and screening tools (e.g., World-Check, LexisNexis, TransUnion) to conduct sanctions, adverse media, and Politically Exposed Person (PEP) screenings.
Identify and escalate potential risks, discrepancies, and suspicious activities related to loan applications to the appropriate management or compliance teams.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records within internal databases and loan origination systems.
Collaborate with various internal teams, including loan officers, underwriters, and legal, to ensure a seamless and compliant mortgage application and closing process.
Stay informed of evolving AML/KYC regulations specific to the mortgage industry, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and the USA PATRIOT Act.
Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation for internal audits and regulatory examinations (e.g., audits by state and federal regulators).
Required qualifications
and skills
Bachelor's degree in finance, Business Administration or a related field.
2-3 years of experience in a KYC, AML, or compliance-related role, with direct experience in the U.S. mortgage industry.
Strong understanding of U.S. AML/KYC regulations and due diligence processes as they apply to mortgage lending.
Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical and investigative skills.
Proficiency in using KYC/AML software, databases, and third-party research tools, including TransUnion.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly and concisely.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
A professional certification such as Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or Certified Know Your Customer Associate (CKYCA) is a plus.
