The KST Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating all activities of the stewarding team to ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and smooth operation of the kitchen and back-of-house areas. The role involves maintaining sanitation standards, managing inventory of cleaning supplies, and supporting kitchen operations efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and lead the kitchen stewarding team during shifts.
Ensure cleanliness and hygiene in all kitchen, dishwashing, and back-of-house areas at all times.
Oversee cleaning schedules for kitchen equipment, utensils, floors, walls, and storage areas.
Ensure all cleaning chemicals are handled safely and stored properly.
Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and stewarding equipment.
Coordinate with the culinary team for timely cleaning of cooking utensils and kitchen tools.
Ensure proper segregation and disposal of kitchen waste as per hygiene standards.
Maintain dishwashing machines and report any breakdowns immediately to the engineering team.
Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Train and motivate stewarding staff on hygiene practices, equipment handling, and safety procedures.
Assist the Chef and Stewarding Manager in maintaining cost control and minimizing breakages.
Support banquet operations and special functions by ensuring timely setup and clearance.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
Good knowledge of kitchen hygiene and sanitation standards.
Ability to work under pressure and in fast-paced environments.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment use.
Qualification & Experience:
Minimum 12th pass or equivalent qualification.
Diploma or certification in Hotel Management preferred.
2-4 years of experience in kitchen stewarding, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
Experience in a hotel, resort, or large-scale food service operation preferred.
