The Knitted Fabric Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring that all knitted fabrics used in production meet the company's quality standards and buyer requirements. This role involves overseeing fabric inspection, testing, process control, vendor coordination, and quality assurance across the entire garment production cycle.

Key Responsibilities:
Fabric Quality Assurance
Develop, implement, and monitor quality standards for knitted fabrics.
Conduct bulk fabric inspection (4-point / 10-point system) and shade band approval.
Supervise incoming fabric testing (GSM, shrinkage, spirality, color fastness, pilling, bursting strength, etc.).
Ensure fabric is free from defects such as holes, barre, contamination, dyeing issues, or shrinkage problems.
Approve fabric for cutting only after meeting required quality standards.
Process & Production Quality Control
Monitor knitting, dyeing, finishing, and compacting processes to ensure quality consistency.
Establish SOPs for in-process quality checks during knitting and finishing.
Identify root causes of defects and coordinate with production teams to implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Maintain strict quality audits at every stage - fabric store, cutting, sewing, and finishing.
Vendor & Buyer Communication
Coordinate with mills/suppliers to resolve fabric quality issues and ensure timely corrective actions.
Work with buying/merchandising teams for buyer approvals of fabric quality.
Prepare quality reports and present them to management and buyers as required.
Team Management & Training
Lead and train quality inspectors for fabric inspection and testing.
Build a strong in-house quality culture across departments.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, certifications, and buyer requirements.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of knitted fabric properties, defects, and testing methods.
Familiar with international testing standards (AATCC, ISO, ASTM, etc.).
Proficiency in fabric inspection systems (4-point / 10-point).
Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and vendor management skills.
Leadership ability to manage and train quality teams.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree / Diploma in Textile Engineering, Knitting, or related field.
7-10 years of experience in knitted fabric quality management in a garment manufacturing setup.
Hands-on experience with fabric mills, knitting, dyeing, and finishing processes.
Exposure to domestic or export-oriented garment manufacturing (preferred).
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
