Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation:

Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation, including washing, peeling, cutting, chopping, and measuring ingredients. Prepare and portion simple food items, salads, or desserts as instructed. Properly store and label food ingredients and leftovers to prevent spoilage

Cleaning and Sanitation:

Wash, clean, and sanitize all dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and cooking equipment. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of all food preparation areas, counters, stovetops, ovens, and storage areas. Perform routine and deep cleaning tasks, such as sweeping, mopping floors, and cleaning trash containers.

Kitchen Operations Support:

Assist with the unloading of food and supply deliveries and ensure proper storage (e.g., in storerooms, refrigerators, or freezers). Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to the supervisor or manager. Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations and procedures.

Teamwork:

Communicate effectively with the rest of the kitchen team (chefs, cooks, dishwashers) to ensure timely and efficient service. Report any damaged, faulty, or non-working equipment to a supervisor immediately.

Qualifications and Requirements

Experience:

Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is often preferred, but not always required.

Knowledge:

Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation procedures

Physical Ability:

Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.

Skills & Attributes:

Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
Ability to follow instructions and recipes accurately.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility to work various shifts, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
