Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Helper with at least 2 years of hands-on experience in preparing Indian and Chinese cuisines to join our dynamic culinary team at our 4-star resort. You will support kitchen operations by assisting in food preparation, maintaining hygiene standards, and ensuring smooth service for our guests enjoying Himalayan hospitality. This role is ideal for someone passionate about resort dining and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in preparing and cooking basic Indian and Chinese dishes, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and portioning ingredients. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, workstations, and equipment per HACCP and FSSAI hygiene standards. Support senior chefs during peak hours by plating food, washing utensils, and restocking supplies. Follow food safety protocols, including proper storage, temperature control, and waste management. Help with inventory checks, basic stock rotation, and preparation of mise en place for daily menus. Collaborate with the team to ensure timely service for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special events like bonfires or trekkers' meals.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum 2 years of experience as a Kitchen Helper or similar role in a hotel/resort kitchen, with proven skills in Indian (e.g., curries, tandoori) and Chinese (e.g., stir-fries, noodles) cooking. Basic knowledge of kitchen operations, including knife skills, equipment handling (grills, woks, ovens), and food presentation. Ability to work in a high-volume kitchen during tourist seasons. Certification in food handling/safety (preferred). Physically fit to stand for long hours in a hilly terrain setting.

Required Skills

Strong teamwork and communication in Hindi/English. Attention to detail, speed, and reliability under pressure. Familiarity with fresh, local ingredients common in Himachal cuisine.
