Key Responsibilities:
1. Food & Beverage Preparation:
Food Preparation: Prepare and cook a variety of dishes such as sandwiches, salads, pastries, and other cafe menu items, following standardized recipes and presentation guidelines.
Beverage Preparation: Assist in preparing a range of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, smoothies, and specialty drinks, ensuring consistency in taste and quality.
Recipe Adherence: Follow precise recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency in all food and beverage items served at the cafe.
2. Quality Control:
Ingredient Handling: Ensure that all ingredients used in the production process are fresh and of high quality. Monitor inventory to avoid wastage and spoilage.
Taste & Presentation: Ensure that all food and beverages meet the cafe's quality standards, including taste, texture, and presentation, before being served to customers.
Customer Feedback: Actively seek feedback on the quality of food and beverages and work with the kitchen team to implement improvements where needed.
3. Hygiene & Safety Compliance:
Food Safety Standards: Follow all food safety regulations and maintain proper hygiene in the kitchen and food preparation areas. This includes cleaning utensils, workstations, and equipment regularly.
HACCP Compliance: Adhere to Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) guidelines to ensure food safety throughout the preparation and storage process.
Waste Management: Practice waste minimization and proper disposal of food waste and packaging materials.
4. Inventory & Stock Management:
Stock Monitoring: Monitor stock levels of food ingredients and beverages, ensuring there is adequate inventory for daily production needs.
Restocking: Coordinate with the purchase team to replenish stock as required, ensuring that supplies are ordered and delivered on time.
FIFO Principle: Ensure that stock is rotated based on the First In, First Out (FIFO) principle to maintain ingredient freshness and prevent wastage.
5. Team Collaboration:
Teamwork: Work closely with kitchen staff, baristas, and service associates to ensure seamless coordination between food production and service operations.
Order Fulfillment: Ensure timely preparation of food and beverage items during peak hours and collaborate with the service team to meet customer demands efficiently.
6. Equipment Maintenance:
Equipment Operation: Safely operate kitchen appliances and coffee machines, ensuring proper use and maintenance.
Cleaning & Upkeep: Regularly clean and maintain kitchen equipment and tools, reporting any malfunctions or repairs needed to the cafe manager.
