The Key Account Manager (KAM) will be responsible for managing strategic client relationships and ensuring operational excellence across key customer accounts including Shell India Pvt. Ltd., Castrol, IAL, Petronas, and ITC. This role requires proactive client engagement, coordination across departments, and a strong focus on service delivery, compliance, and business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Relationship Management:
Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing clients to ensure smooth business operations and transformation.
Conduct regular client visits (minimum once per week) to address needs, review service levels, and gather feedback.
Proactively handle service-related concerns and resolve client queries in a timely manner.
Operational Coordination:
Oversee day-to-day operational activities for assigned key accounts:
Coordinate with the Traffic Department to ensure timely and accurate vehicle placements.
Motivate and manage loading supervisors for efficient execution.
Ensure compliance with HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment & Quality) standards.
Monitor proper loading to prevent shortages, leakages, or damages.
Follow up with brokers, vendors, and the Traffic Department for Proof of Delivery (POD) submissions.
Coordinate with the tracking team to resolve issues related to vendor or driver delays.
Generate and maintain daily indent reports and operational data.
Financial Oversight & Support:
Verify customer billing for accuracy in freight and ancillary charges.
Support collections, manage outstanding payments, and address deduction recoveries.
Assist in reconciliation of receivables and secure approvals for ad-hoc customer requests or rate quotes.
Compliance & Quality Control:
Review and analyze adverse POD remarks; coordinate corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Liaise with depots and delivery offices for seamless transactions and order fulfillment.
Supervise loading processes for sensitive accounts (e.g., Total Oil) to ensure proper handling and compliance.
Reporting & Documentation:
Maintain and update Excel-based reports to reflect daily business activities and operational metrics.
Share regular updates with internal stakeholders and support data-driven decision-making.
Performance Management:
Achieve monthly revenue and profitability targets as defined by management.
Participate in business reviews and provide insights for continuous improvement.
Miscellaneous:
Undertake any other responsibilities or special projects as assigned by the management from time to time.
Qualifications & Skills:
Graduate/Postgraduate in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related fields.
3-4 years of experience in key account management, preferably in logistics, oil & gas, or FMCG sectors.
Strong analytical, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in MS Excel and operational reporting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
