Seeking a dedicated and skilled Karate Instructor to teach, train, and mentor students of various ages and skill levels, with a focus on physical health, fitness, self-defense, and personal discipline. The instructor will be responsible for planning and conducting engaging lessons and fostering a safe, positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Instruction & Training:
Plan and lead karate classes tailored to different age groups and skill levels (beginner to advanced).
Skill Development:
Teach fundamental and advanced karate techniques, philosophy, forms (kata), and sparring (kumite).
Safety & Environment:
Ensure a safe training environment, monitor students' progress, and provide constructive feedback and motivation.
Student Progression:
Prepare students for belt grading examinations and local or district-level or National-level competitions.
Curriculum Development:
Coordinate with management/staff to ensure holistic education and potentially assist in developing the martial arts curriculum.
Administration:
Maintain student records, manage class schedules, and communicate effectively with parents/guardians and staff.
Qualifications & Skills:
Certification:
Minimum qualification often requires a First (Sho) Dan Black Belt (or equivalent) in a recognized style (e.g., Shotokan, Goju-ryu).
Experience:
Prior teaching or coaching experience, ideally with school-aged children or in a similar academy setting.
Soft Skills:
Strong communication, interpersonal, classroom management, patience, and motivational skills are essential.
Personal Attributes:
High standards of personal discipline, punctuality, and the ability to serve as a positive role model.
