Position Overview
We are seeking a
Junior Technical Sales / Resident Engineer
to join our Bangalore team. As a key member of our regional sales and engineering team, you will support sales growth by providing technical pre-sales support, product demonstrations, customer engagement, and onsite support. This role is suitable for an early-career engineer with strong communication skills, basic understanding of networking/protocols, and a passion for technology and customer interaction.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Customer Engagement
Assist the sales team in generating and qualifying technical leads.
Conduct customer meetings, product demos, and presentations to explain solutions in building automation, protocol gateways, or IIoT platforms.
Understand customer requirements and help map them to ProtoConvert products and services.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships and act as a technical point of contact.
Technical Support & Solutioning
Provide technical pre-sales guidance and clarify product features, capabilities, protocols (BACnet, Modbus, SNMP, MQTT, etc.) to customers and partners. ProtoConvert
Assist in preparing technical proposals, solution documentation, and responses to enquiries.
Support proof-of-concept activities and on-site evaluations.
Work with engineering teams to provide feedback and align on customer requirements.
Assist in coordinating installation, commissioning, and post-sales support when needed.
Market & Product Knowledge
Stay updated on industry trends, competitor products, and market opportunities in building automation and industrial IoT.
Help create technical content such as datasheets, case studies, and FAQs for sales enablement.
Reporting & Collaboration
Maintain CRM records for customer interactions, opportunities, and sales funnel activities.
Collaborate effectively with product development, engineering, and support teams.
Qualifications & Skills
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electronics, Computer Science, Electrical, Instrumentation) or equivalent.
Experience:
0 - 2 years of experience in technical sales, pre-sales engineering, or customer support in a technology or automation environment. Fresh graduates with relevant internships or training are encouraged to apply.
Technical Knowledge (desired but not mandatory):
Basic understanding of communication protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BACnet, Modbus, SNMP, MQTT).
Familiarity with industrial automation, networking fundamentals, and IoT devices.
Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and customer-facing skills.
Problem-solving mindset with ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Ability to travel within the region for customer visits and on-site support as required.
Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools.
